Service Description

Who: adults, all-gender, experienced rider When: Monday July 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th, August 12th, & 19th from 5:30pm to 7:30pm Where: Trowbridge Park parking lot Cost: $270 for 6 sessions, bring a friend and both will receive 10% off. Designed to compliment your training schedule, 'The Long Haul' is a MTB skills progression program focusing on developing the essential skills to help you not only survive the day, but thrive. Whether you're going for the maple leaf jersey or to pursue a new challenge, developing your bike handling skills will not only make you faster, but it will help you have more fun. What to expect: - Learn specific bike handling skills and theory related to balance & stability, terrain awareness, direction control, pressure control, and timing & coordination to increase your confidence and ability to ride on various off-road surfaces, - Refine current bike handling skills toolbox you already possess, - Video analysis techniques to help visual and develop riding ability, - Encounter challenges that will allow you to learn and grow as an athlete, and make you a better bike handler, - A safe and judgement-free environment to learn, experiment and progress your mountain bike skills, - Small group sizes to receive direct and immediate feedback on riding form. What you'll receive: 1) 6 2-hour mountain bike skills lessons that highlight the demands of the 2024 XCM National Championship & Shuniah Forty Miner Course. 2) Small group size to ensure direct and immediate communication with coach. 3) Personalized rider assessment and feedback to suit the needs and constraints of the individual athlete. 4) Onsite video analysis and direct feedback of riding performance. Athletes will develop their ability to: - refine their body position to optimize their ability to carry speed over a variety of terrain - assess trail conditions and features to help athletes find the best line choice options specific to their riding style and ability - refine braking control and technique to increase rider confidence in their ability to carry speed in a variety of terrain and situations - generate speed and power using different bike handling techniques (i.e. pedalling vs pumping) - climb and descend technical terrain smoothly and with confidence
